Another Local Bank Robbery

Written by admin on September 14, 2009

Bank employees who evacuated after an elderly robber told a manager that he had a bomb believed they had locked the suspect inside, but police found him 90 minutes later hiding outside a nearby house.

An officer found the man lying on a porch of the house apparently.

The man entered the Bank of America on El Cajon Boulevard at Marlborough Avenue in the City Heights neighborhood about 11:30 a.m. and asked to talk to the bank manager, Collins said. He handed the manager a note saying he had an explosive device and wanted a large amount of cash.

The bank manager left the man to get some money. While doing so, he was able to notify an employee of the threat. That employee was able to alert other employees and customers to evacuate. Employees then thought they had locked the man in the bank, but he got away. That’s when he was found laying on the nearby porch.

Note. Don’t hide on freakin porches!
