Unemployment Rate Spiking…Again
Written by admin on September 19, 2009
Stateofficials reported the unemployment rate in San Diego County held steady at 10.4 percent in August, but remains well above the 6.4 percent jobless rate from a year ago.
The state’s unadjusted unemployment rate was 12.1 percent in August, the same as the previous month, according to the California Employment
Development Department.
The national unemployment rate was 9.6 percent last month, according to the EDD.
Between July and August, the San Diego region added about 1,400 jobs, most of which were in leisure and hospitality, according to the EDD. Construction employment, however, was down 800 jobs.
So sad. You really don’t even know what to say. I know a lot of us, including myself, complain about work and our jobs sometimes…but really? It’s just nice to have one…you know?
