7-11 Held Up In El Cajon

It appears the third time was a charm for a man who made two unsuccessful robbery attempts in El Cajon Friday night before getting $50 from a store in an unincorporated area of La Mesa.

The first attempt was at a 7-Eleven on Second Street near Naranca Avenue after 9 p.m. The would-be robber simulated a gun and demanded cash but left empty-handed, El Cajon police said.

A man matching the same description struck another 7-Eleven 10 minutes later at Main Street near El Monte Road. He tried to grab cash from the open register but still couldn’t manage to take any.

At 9:35 p.m., the same man is believed to have simulated a gun at a 7-Eleven on Avocado Boulevard near Fuerte Drive. He stole $50
