Rock Climbing Gear For Christmas?
Written by admin on November 16, 2009
For some of you who know me personally, you know just how difficult it is to buy my stepfather anything. I’m always struggling to find him something for his birthday and it just seems to get worse when it comes to Christmas. I just…can never think of anything to get him – he’s so difficult to buy for! But as I was browsing the net yesterday, I came across some rock climbing gear. And soon as I saw it, it was like a light blub went off in my head! I think what I’ll get him for Christmas is a whole rock climbing package in the local mountains here. He used to do it when he was younger and hasn’t been since so I think he’ll just love it! With that said, he’s not really prepared so I’m going to have to get him some gear, especially some Arcteryx clothing. I know Arcteryx is a really popular and well made brand and it’s a staple of many rock climbers. I’ve been looking around and I think I’ve found the best prices with Mountain hardwear outlet. So, not only do I get him a great gift but it wont break my bank account either – a win/win situation!

Need A New Toaster Oven
Written by admin on November 16, 2009
So this morning during breakfast, I think I broke my toaster. Well, I don’t think I did..I think it just broke itself…it really wasn’t the best toaster in all honesty. I was expecting it to break soon. So, I think I’m going to go find myself a mountable toaster oven later today. I’m gonna buy a nice one so this doesn’t happen to me again.

Fire Extinguisher Saves Me
Written by admin on November 14, 2009
Living alone like I do, one thing that always worries me is a fire. You just never know what can happen…and it might not even be your fault. For example, a few months ago I was watching TV in my bedroom early in the evening and walked out to the kitchen to get a bite to eat. As I look outside in the backyard, I see smoke…and it looks like it’s coming from the side of the house. I rush outside and sure enough, one of the compost bags on the side of the house burst and caught fire (I kid you not). Thankfully I had a powder fire extinguisher just a few feet inside, but if I didn’t, can you imagine what could have happened? Something so simple as a fire extinguisher saved my house and maybe more than that. So, my point is, make sure you take the smart route and be safe. Things happen all the time…things out of your control. Make sure you have all the proper equipment which includes a fire alarm as well as a fire extinguisher. It’s much better to be safe than sorry…especially when it’s something so simple that can save so much.

Winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected in the mountains and valleys. Humidity is forecast to drop below 10 percent in some areas come Monday.

San Marcos Raises Landscape Rates
Written by admin on November 14, 2009
Installing or replacing landscaping is about to get more complicated and potentially more expensive for some property owners in San Marcos.
The city is developing an ordinance that would require the landscaping around new homes, apartment complexes and other developments to be drought-tolerant —- if a developer is installing the landscaping, if the landscape area covers at least 2,500 square feet and if the project needs city approval.
The proposal would also apply to new homes whose owners are putting in the landscaping, if the area is 5,000 square feet or larger.
Deputy City Manager Lydia Romero said last week that the city must adopt the proposed ordinance to meed the deadline for a 3-year-old state law requiring cities and counties throughout California to adopt stricter water efficiency standards by Jan. 1.

7-11 Held Up In El Cajon
Written by admin on November 14, 2009
It appears the third time was a charm for a man who made two unsuccessful robbery attempts in El Cajon Friday night before getting $50 from a store in an unincorporated area of La Mesa.
The first attempt was at a 7-Eleven on Second Street near Naranca Avenue after 9 p.m. The would-be robber simulated a gun and demanded cash but left empty-handed, El Cajon police said.
A man matching the same description struck another 7-Eleven 10 minutes later at Main Street near El Monte Road. He tried to grab cash from the open register but still couldn’t manage to take any.
At 9:35 p.m., the same man is believed to have simulated a gun at a 7-Eleven on Avocado Boulevard near Fuerte Drive. He stole $50

Luxury Rentals Are The Best
Written by admin on November 14, 2009
Okay, before I make some people angry…this is not a knock on hotels or motels, okay? Ha, but seriously, whenever I do take a trip I always try to stay in a nice rental. There is just something about luxury rentals that is so much more appealing to me than staying in a plain jane hotel or motel. I mean, to me, when you stay in a beautiful rental you get all of the creature comforts of being at home. The one thing I always hate about hotels is that you have people running up and down the halls late at night, or people slamming doors on your floor. I don’t know about you, but I can never get a good night sleep in a hotel. With a luxury resort rental, you don’t have to worry about that. You usually have a nice little kitchen to cook your food in…you have a nice little family room for you and whomever your staying with and most importantly, you have your own bedroom. No need to share beds any longer…or even rooms for that matter. Feel like a nap? Go to your bed. Want to go to sleep early? You can. To me, that’s one of the best things when it comes to luxury rentals. It’s all I ever stay at.

World Of Warcraft Game
Written by admin on November 14, 2009
Do any of my readers play WOW (World of Warcraft)? I’ve played it for a long time and love it…but man, at some points, does it get boring or what?! If you play, you know what I’m talking about. It just seems to drag on…and on…and on. And the really bad part is it doesn’t have to be that way, you know? One thing I like to do is Buy WoW Gold to use in the game…that way it makes the boring parts of the game, well, not so boring. I’m not constantly sitting there waiting for something to do. I can keep it going by buying WoW gold.

The Australian Open
Written by admin on November 13, 2009
Do any of you watch tennis? I know it’s not as popular here as it is in some parts of the world, but tennis is really an amazing sport to watch (and even play)! One of my favorite things to watch is the Australian Open tennis tournament that takes place near the end of January in Melbourne, Australia. In my own personal opinion, the Australian Open is the most fun tournament to watch on the pro tour. They always have the hottest and most popular tennis players take part in the tournament and it’s always a battle until the Championship. I seriously recommend it to anybody…a tennis pro or a tennis novice…it’s well worth your time.

Water & Sewer Rates To Go Up
Written by admin on November 12, 2009
Water and sewer rates were increased by the Oceanside City Council on Thursday in a move utility officials said was needed to cover increased water costs and make required payments on $18.6 million in sewer bonds.
The increases —- approved without discussion by a 3-1 vote during a 10 minute special council meeting —- would raise the monthly water bill for a typical single-family homeowner to $50.82, up from $42.42. The typical month sewer bill would rise from $35.11 to $45.48.
Because hey – we all need to spend more money, right?!?!!?!? :\
