Local Police Officer Arrested For Fraud

Written by admin on November 12, 2009

Oceanside Police Sgt. Walter McWilson was expected to be arraigned in court today of charges related to grand theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy to defraud. A warrant for McWilson’s arrest was issued by the Superior Court on Tuesday. McWilson was expected to surrender today at the Vista jail.

Yikes. Like we needed this again…

O’Side cops really need to have a more professional screening process or something.

Local Fire Does 10,000 In Damage

Written by admin on November 12, 2009

Ten adults and three children who were apparently living illegally in the back yard of a Mountain View home were displaced early this morning after a fire ripped through the debris-strewn property.

The fire was reported at 2:50 a.m. at the home on Keeler Avenue near 43rd Street, said San Diego Fire-Rescue Department spokesman Maurice Luque.

When crews arrived they found a garage engulfed in flames that had spread to a motor home and to part of the back of the house, Luque said.

The flames were knocked down in about 25 minutes but firefighters were at the lot until just before 7 a.m. spreading out mounds of rubbish to make sure the fire was completely out, Luque said.

One person who was having difficulty breathing was taking to a hospital, Luque said.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation and the damage was estimated at $100,000.

Written by admin on November 12, 2009

I’ve been saving up a little extra money lately because I’ve had some intentions of getting into the stock market. I don’t know a ton about it, but, I do know the best time to get into the stock market is during a recession…simply because the stocks are going to go back up in due time. After doing a little research I noticed Penny Stock Alerts – Best Small Cap Stocks which really seemed to have some impressive ideas and thoughts about what stocks to buy and really how to get the most bang for your buck in the stock market by purchasing particular stocks. It’s free to try out too…so really, you can’t go wrong.

The Houston Rodeo

Written by admin on November 12, 2009

Wow…I remember it like yesterday. For those of you who aren’t aware, my Uncle was Rookie Of The Year quite a number of years ago and won at the National Finals in Las Vegas. I went to see him..and it was one of the coolest experiences of my life. I actually grew up in an area that has a pretty large rodeo but thing I always wanted to do was to go to Houston and take part in the Houston Rodeo. It’s really like the mecca of anything involving rodeos…the Super Bowl of rodeos, if you will. I’ve really been thinking about going this year and looking for some RodeoHouston tickets. Sadly, living in San Diego, there aren’t a lot of people who are into the rodeo out here but it’s because they don’t give it a chance, which is sad. It’s really one of the most exciting experiences you’ll ever take part in. It’s such a personal sport to watch the guys go out there and perform…and there is so much that goes along with it. You have fairs…livestock shows…petting zoo’s…it’s really got something for everybody. Hopefully I’ll be able to finally attend the show this year…keep your fingers crossed.

Christmas Flowers A Must

Written by admin on November 12, 2009

So, this year, I’ve been put in charge of doing the whole flower thing for Christmas. Now, you’re most likely going…what? Well, to make a long story short…each year, each of us in the family get a responsibility. For example, last year, I was the food guy. Everybody gave me their list…and I did all of the grocery shopping. This year however, I’ve been given the task of getting all of the christmas flowers. My grandmother informed me she wants a holiday wreath for her front door as well as a centerpiece…and my Mother wants one as well for her dinner (we’re having Christmas Eve dinner at my Grandmothers, full dinner at my Mother’s on Christmas night). And if that wasn’t enough, upon hearing I’m doing this…my Aunt who lives back East asked me to get her a nice centerpiece of flowers. So, I figured rather than go to a local store and go through all of that hassle, just use ProFlowers. I’ve used them before to send things to my girlfriend as well as some other family members and the flowers were beautiful. Not only that, they lasted a really long time. I remember one set I bought for my Mother lasted almost a month with proper watering….very much worth the money…and much easier than fighting the crowds locally.

Gift Basket?

Written by admin on November 12, 2009

So, I’ve been racking my brain lately trying to think of a good gift for one of my co-workers who’s going to be moving on after the holiday season. Actually, I think as I understand it…her last day will be on the 23rd of December, right before our Holiday break…so I need to get her a good gift. She’s sorta the person that has everything (you know those type) and it’s not like I can really go ask her what size of clothing she wears, etc. Plus…that’s just not really a good gift to give a co-worker. I just wanted to get her something to say thanks for the help, you know? One thing that’s crossed my mind is gift baskets. Now, I know a lot of people think of those as cheesy things…and they can be, but, if you look hard enough you’ll find some really amazing finds. For example, I found a really awesome chocolate gift basket that I know she would just love. I always catch her at the vending machine buying a chocolate bar and she’s got a load of them in her desk, so, how awesome would it be to get her a gift basket that has chocolate bars from around the world? I think it’s a great little present…and doesn’t break my wallet either!

Family Holiday Trip To Florida

Written by admin on November 12, 2009

One thing my family and I have always done is attempt to have a nice family vacation towards the end of the year. Now, it sorta depends on when we can all be available and we try our best to avoid the major holiday rush…so it can be a bit complicated, but, this year we’re looking into a Fort Lauderdale vacation rental I think. My Grandmother has really wanted to go to Florida for quite some time (she hasn’t been since she was a teenager) so I think it would be cool to head down to Florida and get a vacation rental. I really love vacation rentals because it feels like you’re at home, you know? That’s not to say hotels suck…they don’t…not at all. But for me, I think it’s much more entertaining and easy going to be staying in a nice rental with all of the comforts of home. And to be honest, it’s quite a money saver as well. For all of us to get a hotel…we’d have to rent out a few rooms. With most rentals, they’ve already got 2 or 3 bedrooms so we can all sleep comfortably with that. I think Cooper City might be the best for us…we’ll see!

SEO Company For A Website

Written by admin on November 11, 2009

I don’t remember if I told you guys, but, a few months ago a good friend of mine from college moved to North Carolina with his wife to start a new family. It’s been hard without him here, but, I still talk to him on the phone. Last night he told me he’s started his own online business where he sells his amazing wood work (seriously, it’s so nice) but he’s not getting enough traffic on his website so he’s looking into hiring a charlotte seo company. A Social Media company will really help him get the exposure his website needs and help him with his internet marketing campaign. His work speaks for itself, but, he needs a little help promoting his website and an SEO company will help him out.

County Courts To Be Closed For 2 Weeks

Written by admin on November 9, 2009

The San Diego Superior Court system will be closed the next two Wednesdays, first for a holiday and the second because of a state- ordered closure to save money.

This Wednesday, Nov. 11, is Veteran’s Day, a normal holiday for the courts.

The closing for budgetary reasons will be the following Wednesday, Nov. 18. The unprecedented one-day-per-month closures were ordered in June by the California Judicial Council because of the state’s budget crisis.

The order affects courtrooms and business offices in all 58 counties, and employees take unpaid furlough days.

Hit-N-Run In South San Diego

Written by admin on November 9, 2009

A rear-seat passenger killed in a hit-and-run crash early Sunday in the eastern part of San Diego was identified as a 47-year-old man.

Francisco Lopez Carrillo was pronounced dead at the scene of the 2:05 a.m. collision on El Cajon Boulevard near 54th Street, according to the San Diego County medical examiner’s office.

The victim was riding in a Plymouth traveling west on the boulevard when the driver turned left into the path of an eastbound truck, San Diego police Officer David Stafford said.

Two other passengers were taken to hospitals with serious injuries, Stafford said.

He said the female driver ran off. Officer Jane Jacobsen said she was still at-large as of Sunday afternoon.

The truck driver, who was alone, suffered minor injuries.
