Fire In Mission Hills

Written by admin on December 29, 2009

Two Mission Hills residents were arranging for interim lodging Monday in the aftermath of a fire that caused about $300,000 worth of damage to their home and fatally injured their dog.

A faulty floor heater sparked the blaze in the 1900 block of Titus Street shortly before 6:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

It took crews about 10 minutes to extinguish the flames, SDFRD spokesman Lee Swanson said. Animal control personnel were called in to care for the injured dog, which later died, Swanson said.

The American Red Cross aided the two displaced adults in securing housing.
