Traffic Problems In San Marcos Fixed? Haha

Written by admin on December 2, 2009

Seventeen residents took time from their normal routines Tuesday to help identify ways to improve San Marcos, during a public workshop at Twin Oaks Elementary School.

The session was the first in a dozen designed to get the public involved in a two-year project that will give San Marcos a new general plan. The plan is a document that serves as a blueprint for the city’s growth and development for years to come.

Working all together at first and then in three small groups during a series of exercises, workshop participants quickly identified traffic congestion as a major local concern.

People’s desires for a town square-type gathering place and an intra-city transit system also emerged as priorities.

Some of the other ideas offered were: the need to protect agricultural area; to expand the type of commercial businesses in San Marcos; to improve the Interstate 15-Highway 78 interchange; and to enlist Cal State San Marcos’ and Palomar College’s help in creating more opportunities for residents to engage in healthy lifestyles.

Now, granted, this sounds like a fine idea…as much of the initial San Marcos ideas are. Have you ever heard the term it looks good on paper, but, in reality, it never works? Ding ding ding ding! I think we have a winner! They might as well be doing mime application/xhtml+xml work…

This seriously has no shot of ever going through. But hey, that’s San Marcos for ya!
