Polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Lake Elsinore for a citywide special election asking voters if they want to recall Councilman Thomas Buckley.
Voters also can pick one of three candidates to replace the councilman should a majority choose to oust him for the remainder of his four-year term, which expires in November.
The candidates are restaurant operator Jimmy Flores, who is chairman of the city’s planning commission; real estate executive Steve Manos, a member of the city’s Citizens Corps volunteer group; and Orange County sheriff’s Deputy Phil Mendoza, also a member of the planning commission.
Registered voters in the city who have not cast ballots by mail should visit the polling place identified on their sample ballot pamphlet. The location also can be looked up on the Riverside County Registrar of Voters’ Web site at www.election.co.riverside.ca.us/currentElection.asp .
