Oceanside Youth Golf Program

Golf might seem like an odd way to help kids do better in school and improve their manners, but a program based on that idea has worked magic in San Diego, organizers say, and may soon come to Oceanside.
The nonprofit Pro Kids Golf Academy wants to replicate in North County a program it started in San Diego’s City Heights neighborhood in 1994. The group has tentatively identified property next to the Oceanside Municipal Golf Course as a good site.
So far, Callaway Golf Foundation has pledged $2 million toward the idea. Pro Kids hopes to raise an additional $2 million.
