Trevi Permit Issue Resolved
Written by admin on March 24, 2010
Live music and dancing can continue legally for the time being at a Lake Elsinore bowling alley and game center after the City Council decided Tuesday to postpone acting on its threat to revoke the entertainment permit.
On Feb. 23 the council had decided to give Trevi Entertainment Center proprietor Michel Knight a month to agree to a proposal allowing the center, which includes restaurants and bars, to continue hosting nightclub events until Sept. 30 if he agreed to a series of demands.
On Tuesday, the council met in private over the issue because it involves a lawsuit filed by Knight against the city. State law requiring elected government bodies to meet in public exempts discussions on litigation.
City Attorney Barbara Leibold said the council postponed action Tuesday on the permit until its April 13 meeting.

Has It Been A Year Already?
Written by admin on March 24, 2010
Wow – it just seems like yesterday when I was talking to you all about my Sister’s pregnancy and eventual birth. But now looking back on the clock, it’s nearly been a year since that date….time flies huh? Anyway, my Sister said she’s going to be putting together a little Spring party/get together for the family and friends and she asked me for some help. She’s going to incorporate my little nephew’s birthday in it all, so, she asked me if I had any first birthday party ideas for him. Of course, the idea of an Easter egg hunt came to mind…but he’s far too little for that. That said, the other little kids would enjoy it…and so would we big kids. What do you guys think? Any solid ideas for a party!?

Expunge Your Old Records?
Written by admin on March 24, 2010
Listen – things happen and sometimes they’re out of your control. Silly things maybe that you do as a youth that come back and haunt you as you get older, such as getting in trouble with the justice system or having a small criminal record. You’ve grown up…but your past still haunts you. You can’t get a job because of something silly you did when you were 19…I’ve had friends in this situation before and it’s a shame. I wasn’t aware of it at the time but there is a way to expunge your records. With expungement you can now get the help of rehabilitation by getting record sealing and information from non profit groups like RecordCleaning.org. A really cool idea, in my opinion.

Gardner’s Truck Repo’d
Written by admin on March 20, 2010
A white pickup truck once owned by accused killer John Gardner has become the focus of crime scene investigators in the Amber Dubois murder case. Records obtained by News 8 show the truck was repossessed from Gardner just four days after the 14-year-old went missing.
The repossession documents prove Gardner was still driving the truck when Amber Dubois vanished while walking to Escondido High School on February 13, 2009.
Now, forensic investigators are combing through the truck looking for key evidence that could link Gardner to the student’s death.
It’s amazing to me that these things easily come to light after so long…yet the PD couldn’t get any of this info when needed?! I mean crap, even the investigators hired by the parents had to inform the PD of where to look. Just sad.

Another Downtown Gang Problem?
Written by admin on March 20, 2010
A fight early Saturday morning between three men in their 20s led to one being stabbed in the chest and two arrests.
Authorities said they arrested two men in their mid-20s after the third man, in his late 20s, was stabbed and taken to a hospital with non-life threatening wounds.
The incident was reported at 2 a.m. Saturday near 9th Avenue and Broadway. San Diego Police’s gang-unit is investigating.
It’s seriously not safe to go downtown right now in the evening. Which is a shame because of all the fun activities down there…but, there is just way too much crime. Hopefully this all ends soon.

Murrieta Creek Development – BAD IDEA
Written by admin on March 20, 2010
As currently planned, a 51-home project to be built on an abandoned horse ranch along Wildomar’s southern border with Murrieta will be a tough sell, judging from recent public reaction.
For one thing, the proposed 30-acre subdivision at Rancho Mirlo Road and Huckaby Lane would be built along the western bank of Murrieta Creek and include development in the flood plain.
That prompted concerns Wednesday at the Wildomar Planning Commission meeting about flooding, worries that were underscored by problems that occurred along the creek after recent rains.
This is just asking for some serious flood damage. There are two things you need to worry about here – fires and mudslides. Why put yourself in harms way? Don’t understand it.

Computer Backup
Written by admin on March 20, 2010
I don’t know how many times I’m going to have to experience it to learn. A hard drive failure. Seriously, it’s taken me two or three times – but I’m sure it’s never going to happen again because I’m making sure I always use a online backup as my main source of backing up my files. I mean, jeez, I’ve lost so many important documents, pictures, home videos…it’s literally endless. It’s so sad too because I’ll never get them back. Once your hard drive is fried, it’s fried. And it’s not even that…so many things can happen to your computer that it’s just too large of a risk to keep important things on your PC. You could accidentally delete things…you could have a disaster such as a fire (scary to think about)…so many different things could happen.
So, with that said, I’ve been using IDrive online backup as my main backup tool. I pay the $4.95 a month for the 150GB of storage (which is awesome by the way) but there are also free options such as the mobile version (yep, you can use it with your Blackberry, Iphone, etc) and they also have a 2GB storage account for free which is plenty of space for things like pictures and documents which I highly recommend to you. Be safe…not stupid, like I’ve been in the past and lose all your valuable things. It works for both PC’s and Mac’s, so, it’s a win-win situation.

Heading Back East Soon
Written by admin on March 20, 2010
Well, I have to say, with the way the weather has been here lately…I’m more than welcoming this trip I have going back East. And while most of it is business, I will have a day or two to play around. So, my plans are to hit a New Jersey Nets basketball game and then head over to Morey’s Pier. They’re having a Spring Sale which is up to 35% off, so, it’s too good of a deal for me to pass up and I really love amusement parks. I’ve never been, but, I’ve seen commercials and the place looks just awesome. I can’t wait to ride some NJ Amusement Rides and slip back into my youth for a few hours.

Hit Air Ballon Has Rough Landing
Written by admin on March 18, 2010
A hot air balloon with several people on board made a hard landing Wednesday evening causing minor injuries to about three occupants, San Diego police said. The balloon landed in a Carmel Valley gated community near the 7300 block of Los Brazos at about 7:20 p.m. The three injured people were taken to the hospital for treatment.
This is the first situation of this nature that I can recall – it wasn’t even windy yesterday so maybe something faulty with the flame, but still – quite scary to think about. I’ve never been up in a hot air balloon and this gives me extra reason to avoid it. haha
