Traffic Changes On Newport Road

For anyone who’s ever been stuck in long lines of cars waiting to turn left at Haun and Newport roads, which is one of the city’s busiest intersections, relief could be on the way.
The City Council on Tuesday night will be asked to approve a contract extension for a consultant to craft plans to extend two left-turn lanes at the intersection. During peak hours and especially on weekends, the left-turn lane from westbound Newport to southbound Haun can be especially troublesome for commuters and shoppers headed to the Countryside Marketplace shopping center.
Oh, and btw? Please watch out for the cameras. Those things catch you and you’ve got a nice 400 dollar bill in your mail.
