Hantavirus Found Locally

A harvest mouse trapped during routine monitoring in the Fairbanks Ranch area of Carmel Valley tested positive for hantavirus, the San Diego County Department of Environmental Health announced Monday.
This can easily become airborne so if you live in an area where there are a lot of field mice, make sure you’re protected and I’d suggest keeping your animals in a contained area as well.
