I’ve always wondered something. Why are toner cartridges always so expensive? I mean, I get that ink isn’t the easiest thing to product but it’s not THAT expensive – you know what I mean?

It’s just like – you run to your local store or even a lot of online stores and you are just overwhelmed at the prices. Then you think back and go – wait, didn’t the printer come cheaper than the actual ink!?!? It’s so silly.

Anyway, that brings me to my point – finding cheaper ink. I’ve made it my duty lately, haha. I finally did find some and the quality was fantastic. I honestly couldn’t tell much, if any difference between the extremely overpriced ink and the cheap stuff I bought. You can also refill the ink if you so desire (by just purchasing the refills over the cartridges) so either way, it’s a win- win to me.

So I’ve been remodeling around the house the past year and right now, I’m in the process of redoing my kitchen. I wanted to get it done before the holiday season (and I think I will) but my pressing need now is unfinished cabinet doors for my kitchen cabinets. The problem, like always, is that I waited until the last minute so I’m trying to get them done as soon as possible. Thankfully, I think I’ve found some cabinet doors and kitchen cabinet doors from PatriotCabinet.com which will ship them to me within 5 days, nationwide! How awesome is that?! Not to mention, they were way cheaper then the competition so – I guess waiting until the last minute does have some advantages, eh? haha

I’ll be sure to post some pics when my kitchen is all fixed up/

So my little cousin is modeling. Well, I say that as if she hasn’t been doing it. In fact, she has, and not only has she been doing it for quite some time but she’s actually very talented at it and continue to move up the ladder in the corporate modeling world.

In a few months, she’ll be going to Miami for an awards show and she told me a few nights ago that she wanted to do her own photoshoot in Miami for her portfolio, but, she really wasn’t sure of how to go about it so I told her I’d help.

I’ve been looking around on the internet for a Miami photo studio rental and came across a 1,700 square feet column-free photo studio can be rented at Splashlight Miami. The prices look very resonable (maybe even less) than the competition and the studio pictures looked fantastic – I think she’ll be extremely excited when I show her what I found.

I told her she needs to start a website selling calendars, haha, but she didn’t seem to be to keen on that idea. Maybe I need to start my own in a fireman suit? Haha, just kidding…..I think…haha. :p

Hats. I think I’ve mildly obsessed. No, seriously – I have tons of them.

I don’t know what it is but they just complete an outfit, you know? I remember the first ever “true” hat I bought was when I was about 10 or so. My Grandmother and I were at the mall and we went into the sports store. It was right about the time I was really starting to get into sports and I walked by this wall that was just covered in them. It was like a utopia of caps and hats. I wanted every single one I saw. Of course, I only had money for one and I settled on the Houston Astros hat (they were my favorite at the time) and I wore that thing till it had holes in it.

Fast forward nearly twenty years and I’m no different – hats are one of my favorite things to buy. So it’s no guess that I’m always on the hunt for the newest and most fashionable and that my friends, right now, are the fantastic Florida State Hats. If you’re a Seminole fan like myself then you know there is no other place to grab your favorite cap or hat than at Seminoles.com – love that place.

So as many of you know, I own a home business and I’ve done that for the past few years. At first, it was a raving success but since the economy began on its downslide, things have been a little more difficult. Actually, so difficult, that I’m thinking of a potential second job. One thing I’ve always been interested in was being a loan officer. So, being the wizard on the internet that I am, I typed on over to my favorite search engine and found some fantastic Loan Officer training online. I haven’t signed up just yet as I don’t want to fully commit myself until I’m totally ready, but, I think within a few weeks (assuming things don’t pick up with work) that I’ll be signing up. I think the fact that TrainingPro pioneered the National Cross Certification Program which resulted in students saving their time and money really sold me onto the one site I stumbled across.

I still hope things do work out with my home business but if not, I think I’ve got a great backup plan just in case.

Do any of my readers have any family that are Loan officers? If so, how do they feel about it?

So, this morning I received an e-mail from a friend of mine telling me to check out the Kravis Center. Now, I had no idea what this place was when I opened the e-mail, so, like the great friend I am – I checked it out.

Once I did, I figured out my friend did a little research for me and sent me an e-mail with links to information and tourism info for Palm Beach because a few weeks ago I had mentioned that I wanted to visit – don’t I have great friends?

Anyway, I try to make a summer vacation or two every year and this year after some tough deliberations I’ve decided that I’m going to be visiting Palm Beach. After doing hours and hours of research (okay, I’m lengthy, sue me) I’ve come to the conclusion that Palm Beach has the most things to do out of the areas that I was comparing it to (and that’s saying a lot! There is a ton to do in Palm Beach).

A few of my other friends said I was crazy considering I live about five minutes from the beach, but, I live in the West Coast. The East Coast is totally different, you know? That’s like having a home near the mountains but then saying you shouldn’t visit the Alps because you live by the mountains. Uh, no.

Anyway, now I’m on the search for some West Palm Beach condos – I don’t want to buy anything, just rent for a few weeks or maybe even a month. I do want to stay there for a bit of time.

Have any of my readers spent time in West Palm Beach? Or maybe even live there? Can anybody drop me an e-mail with some more info about the place? I’d really appreciate the effort. Thanks so much!

There was a time (not all that long ago, actually) that networking was thought to be a business operation – you know, a work thing. You’d sign up for one of the many networking websites with the intention of doing something productive for your job. But now, it’s become so much more. Today I received an e-mail invite from a good friend of mine asking me to sign up to a few Christian Social Networking Sites that he’s a member of. So, of course, I went and checked them out and came back extremely impressed, especially with one of them. I loved all the features and ease of connecting with fellow members who share similar beliefs and personality traits with me.

I haven’t had a chance to explore it too deep as of yet (time to get some lawn work done!) but what I’ve seen so far I love. So if you love the whole experience of social networking, I highly suggest you sign up as well. And hey – you don’t like it, you don’t go back – no commitment or anything. I say why not, right!?

A lot of people ask me if I were shipwrecked, and could only have one book, what would it be? I always say, ‘How to Build a Boat’

Okay – if you’re not aware, that’s a quote by the famous Stephen Wright.

For those of you unaware, I’m a lover of all things watercraft and that obviously includes boats. I don’t really have a preference when it comes to the particular type of watercraft – it could be a yacht – it could be a jet ski – it could be a tin sardine can – heck, it could be a rigid inflatable boat. All I know is that when I’m on the water, I’m in my happy place. And speaking of inflatable boats, I’m actually in the market for a new one. My old one has held up for years but I’d just like to upgrade since I’m pretty far behind on the new technologies. I’ve been on the watch for one locally here for the last few months but they’re a little too expensive for my personal preference so I think I’m going to go on the net to find it now. With the little research I’ve done I’ve noticed the prices are much more pocket friendly on the net, so, I’m all about that!

Let me tell you something about living in Southern California – it’s expensive. Like, seriously, expensive. Everything you do is expensive! It’s insane. Anyway, to my point – if there is any place in the country you’d like to save some money, Southern California would be towards the top of the list. I mean seriously, this winter, my electric bill was over $500 bucks. I kid you not. And you’d assume with a bill like that that I had the heater running 24/7 right? Not even. I ran it very sparingly.

So, it’s got to the point where I think I want to look into solar energy and I want to find some California solar installers. My neighbor installed some solar panels about a year ago and he’s raved about how much they’ve reduced his monthly bills – and he’s Mr. Frugal, so, if he likes it – I’ll love it. haha.

I think the thing that scares people with solar power is the price tag at first – and while I can understand that, it’s really not that expensive in the long run – and that’s the mentality that you need when you’re looking into solar power. I mean, I can see by looking at my past bills that the solar power would totally pay for itself in a very short amount of time.
